Festive Season

Written by on December 23, 2013

The College Library will be closed from 2.00 pm on the 24th December 2013 and reopens for readers on the 6th January 2014 at 9.00 am.  Details about opening hours for the College as a whole over the festive season can be viewed on the College website.

Although we will be shut over the festive period, you can still find out about the many resources we have in the library and  archives on the College website so that you are ready for when we re-open.  Details about our book holdings can be found in the library online catalogue.  Our extensive holdings include a modern clinical collection as well as historical items dating back to the 15th century.  Descriptions of over a hundred archive collections in the College archive can also be accessed from the College website.  Should you wish to come and view any of the items or require further information then please email us at library@rcpsg.ac.uk

We look forward to hearing from you in the New Year.

About Us

The College’s heritage collections – including thousands of medical and surgical instruments, rare books, archives, and pictures – span over 6 centuries and are an excellent resource for exploring the history of medicine and the history of the city of Glasgow. Many items from the collections have been digitised and are available to view here. Our digitisation work is ongoing, and we add new items to the site regularly, so keep checking back to discover more.
