If you want to find out more about the history of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow then why not purchase some of the books available from the College online shop?  There are a variety on offer, from a small illustrated booklet describing the College’s historical collections – From the College Collections – to far more detailed two volume history.  Also for sale is a facsimile edition of founder Peter Lowe’s The Whole Course of Chirurgerie, first published in 1597 and the first work on general surgery to be written in English.  The work is bound in green leatherette with gold lettering and decoration and would make a lovely gift for a new Member of the College.   Treasures of the College, is a larger “coffee table” book which outlines the history and collections of the College thematically, and like the smaller College Collections booklet, is richly illustrated.
